Mission statement rough draft #1

Postby ΛΟΓΙΝΟC » Tue Aug 09, 2016 11:38 pm

I was charged with the task of authoring a mission statement for NCOS and I feel there are a few points it must necessarily cover.

1. The denouncement of religion and the practice of childhood indoctrination.
2. The unification of satanic factions to accept a dualistic nature of human perception. Some humans prefer a spiritual perception while others a materialistic perspective. As our understanding of reality is constantly evolving, there will always come a time where our present concept is archaic to a future awareness. Therefore neither can be more or less correct in the present and dualistic acceptance of Ahriman/Satan and Lucifer as two opposite poles fits best.
3. This should allow for maximum appeal to satanists spiritual and LeVayan as well as atheist, agnostic, and spiritual non satanists to find value in our philosophy.

The New Church Of Satan,
born from the secular movement of Satanism in so order that there may exist, a refuge for the conscious contingent of world populace who find themselves unwilling to continue religious inculcation of future generations. We find these organizations in flagrante delicto giving just cause to champion Satan and seek to establish a unified Satanism under the modality of reverential philosophy.

The New Church Of Satan,
born from the secular movement of Satanism in so order that there may exist, a refuge for the conscious contingent of world populace who find themselves unwilling to continue allowing institutional religious inculcation of future generations. We find these organizations in direct conflict with the peaceful evolution of man, giving just cause to champion Satan and seek to establish a unified Satanism under the modality of reverential philosophy.

Why the "new" Church of Satan? What separates us from the "old" church? Well, for starters, we accept all Satanists, whether theistic, atheistic, or agnostic. The important thing is that you are a Satanist. Satanists need to begin unifying, not dividing.

We believe religion, specifically the Abrahamic religions, and Christianity in particular, are in their death throes. Their days are numbered and they will be replaced by Satanism. This may not happen in name, but it will happen in philosophy. Satanism is the future.

We stand opposed to the inculcation and brainwashing of children with religion. This is a form of child abuse in which children are raised to feel guilty for all their natural instincts. It has a negative impact on a person throughout their life and must be brought to an end. We see a future in religious recovery with programs designed to help people overcome their stifling religious upbringings.

We stand for positive community outreach to address problems both individually and socially as a result of religious inculcation. We believe in teaching responsibility and strength instead of guilt and victimization. We believe in freedom of mind, body, and choice.

We stand for further study in the areas of Satanism and the occult among our membership.

Politically we do not endorse any particular party. That is an individual choice. We do, however, see some stances as perhaps more satanic than others. By and large, we are pro-choice, pro-separation of church and state, and pro-gun; we support the decriminalization of drugs and we stand opposed to the high incarceration rates the drug war has resulted in. We believe in the right to die. In short, we support freedom of choice in all cases where said choice does not result in harm to others. These stances are simply what we see as the most Satanic, and we do not require them of our members, who we encourage to think critically and form their own opinions.
